Rifugio Walter Bonatti

Rifugio Walter Bonatti lies high in Val Ferret, on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, with sweeping views of the Grandes Jorasses, the Mont Blanc massif, and the rugged peaks of the Aosta Valley.

Built as a modern refuge and dedicated to the legendary Italian alpinist Walter Bonatti, it honors his spirit of adventure while offering hikers a warm and comfortable stop along the Tour du Mont Blanc. 

Inside, the atmosphere combines contemporary alpine design with traditional hospitality: dormitories and small private rooms provide restful sleep, while the kitchen serves generous, home-cooked meals rooted in local Valdostan tradition.  

With its panoramic terrace and deep connection to mountaineering history, Rifugio Bonatti is both a tribute to an icon and one of the most memorable stops on the TMB.
